As soon as the 1/8 Champions League round ended, Liverpool won a very important 2-0 victory on Arsenal's field, in… Premier League. The important thing is: this victory helps Liverpool to shorten the gap with the top team Man City to only 1 point, in a situation where people once thought that Man City was considered to have won the Premier League.
Saying that to see: although it is losing points, but Liverpool is better than Man City in terms of spirit, spirit, style... These are all details that show the terrible power of Liverpool, further confirming the position of the championship candidate. Champions League of this team, although the Champions League is not the Premier League. What is the common ground?
In the Premier League, observers admit Mikel Arteta's Arsenal just had a good game. People sobbed in praise of Gabriel Martinelli at Arsenal. But in short, Liverpool wins. They scored the important goal right after escaping the goal. And when there was a goal, Liverpool became solid, Arsenal had no way to find the balance again.
On the one hand, the title in the Premier League and the Champions League is equally important. Liverpool is facing a historic opportunity, so that if it "eats 4" this season, it will definitely have to be considered the greatest team ever, in the homeland of football. Therefore, Juergen Klopp's teachers and students must cherish every opportunity they have, neatly exploit each good ball, take advantage of every small opportunity. On the other hand, what has just been mentioned is the core detail, required to conquer the Champions League. Why is Man City not eligible to win the Champions League for the rest of his life? More importantly, why can't even Pep Guardiola help Man City to the throne? That's because Guardiola's Man City does not have the unique details that Liverpool have just shown.
Man City won the Premier League too easily, over the years. Just spread the money. And if not, spread more money. If Guardiola doesn't buy a good goalkeeper, he will buy a better one. He bought 3-4 top defenders in the world, still not done, then bought 1-2 more rock defenders. Just like that, more than 1 billion pounds in just 6 years - Guardiola himself has turned himself into a rich man as obnoxious as the Man City team "spending money on the temple". Because he was so permissive, Guardiola was no longer in the mood to realize his weak point to improve: his ability to coach in the game.
Reading and adjusting tactics right in the game is not a feature of a big, philosophical football team. That is the characteristic of small teams, must "whether the rice picks up the fish sauce", must think in each match, each ball phase. Guardiola's Man City is to be as epic as a winning machine, why wait and see and adjust in the game. They don't need that ability, nor do they have it. Of course, whenever there is a conversation, kicking a very strong opponent or kicking in a deadlock situation, Guardiola's Man City is not able to adjust the important places. It's been a feature for many years, it's not easy to fix!

In the latest match in the 29th round of the Premier League between Crystal Palace and Man City, Pep Guardiola's teachers and students were powerless to penetrate the home team's net, thereby creating a great opportunity for rivals Liverpool to narrow. difference down to 1 point.
With the superior quality of the squad, Man City quickly imposed the match on Palace. The first opportunity came to the visitors in the 14th minute, when goalkeeper Vicente Guaita caught the ball after Kevin de Bruyne's long shot. Bernardo Silva had the opportunity to rush into the mud, but he handled it very poorly.
In the following period, Man City continued to attack heavily, causing Palace to struggle to resist. In the 27th minute, defender Joao Cancelo fired a long-range cannon and sent the ball back to the home post. At the end of the first half, Riyad Mahrez corrected his technique with his left foot, but the ball narrowly missed the Palace column.
After the first 45 minutes, Man City held the ball to more than 70%, launched 14 shots, more than 3 times Palace but completely helpless in finding a goal.
In the second half, it was still a one-way match in favor of Man City. Knowing that he knew me, Palace pulled the squad down to "build a double-decker bus". The home team's defensive kick somewhat makes the strikers of Man City impatient. Quite a few opportunities were created by Man City, but Phil Foden, Jack Grealish or Mahrez were all inaccurate in the final situations.
The defense is tight, but Palace is not lacking in opportunities. They proved to be full of discomfort in quick counter-attacks thanks to the speed of Wilfried Zaha or Michael Olise. However, Palace lacked a bit of sharpness to kill Man City.
In the end, Man City was held to a 0-0 draw by Palace. This is the second time this season that Palace made Guardiola's teachers and students unable to score. In the first leg at Etihad, The Eagles even beat the Blue Man 2-0.
This disastrous draw did not make Man City lose the top spot in the Premier League 2021/22, when they still held the top of the table with 70. However, the Green Man opened a great opportunity for Liverpool to narrow the points gap. The score will be reduced to 1 point if you beat Arsenal in the match on March 17. Currently, Liverpool owns 66 points and plays 1 game less than Man City. The championship race is getting more dramatic than ever.
Squad
Crystal Palace: Guaita, Mitchell, Guehi, Andersen, Clyne, Schlupp, Kouyate, Gallagher, Zaha, Mateta, Olise.
Man City: Ederson, Walker, Laporte, Stones, Cancelo, Rodri, De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva, Mahrez, Foden, Grealish.

Chelsea have a literal giant in Romelu Lukaku, but forget about the striker because the Blues now have the giant they need in the game, Kai Havertz.
When the clock struck 89th minute in the match between Chelsea and Newcastle, Jorginho made a pass with a perfect drop to tear the away team's defense. Havertz snuck down very quickly, intercepting the first step perfectly before swinging his left foot coldly into the net of Newcastle to score the only goal to give Chelsea a choking victory.
The whole bridge at Stamford Bridge seemed to explode after this high-level goal from Havertz. Once again, the former Bayer Leverkusen midfielder turned into a "giant" to help Chelsea pick up sweet fruits. Perhaps there is no need to discuss Havertz's great contributions to Chelsea, because after a difficult period in the new team's shirt, he has completely transformed to prove his true value.
In the Champions League final 2020/21 against Man City, Havertz was the author of the only goal to help Chelsea win the championship. Before Palmeiras at the FIFA Club World Cup final not long ago, the German star opened fire in the final minutes of extra time, bringing home the first world cup for The Blues in the club's history.
Of course, these are just two of the highlights in which Havertz became a "giant" in the big games. Before Lille in the first leg of the 1/8 Champions League round this season, Havertz scored to break the balance in the 8th minute, opening the final 2-0 victory for Chelsea. In the match against Liverpool in the Premier League earlier this season, Havertz scored to open the scoring for Chelsea but unfortunately the Blues only obtained a 1-1 draw.
Over time, Havertz has proved he is worth every penny of what Chelsea spend in the summer of 2020. Fast, responsive, moving without the ball well, sharp and always present at the key moment, that is. is what the 22-year-old player has shown in the Chelsea shirt. Assigned by coach Thomas Tuchel in the role of a virtual number 9, Havertz is indeed making Lukaku feel "suffocated" by constantly shining to bring more precious victories than gold for Chelsea.
"This is a difficult time. I feel sorry for everyone at the club, the fans, the workers, not only professional players like us but also the players at the club. academy. But we're going to try to give our best in this moment. If you can give everyone moments like this that would be great. We have to stand together during this period. I try to do that, win games and give the fans a sense of joy," Havertz said after the win over Newcastle.
As Havertz said, Chelsea is in a very difficult situation after the owner Roman Abramovich's assets were frozen by the British government. However, The Blues are still strong on the field and Havertz's crazy celebration partly shows the determination and will not give up of the blue shirt boys.
Chelsea clearly have a big star in the squad in Havertz, and the German midfielder continues to score important goals to help the Blues continue their journey in the Premier League and Champions League.

Although there were no goals scored in the match between Man City vs Sporting Lisbon in the second leg of the 1/8 Champions League round, that was still enough for the Blue Man to win tickets to the quarterfinals. In the end, the Premier League representative defeated Sporting with a total score of 5-0 after 2 matches.
Holding 5 goals as capital after the first leg in Portugal, Man City confidently launched a squad of many reserve players. After the opening whistle, the two teams quickly played a double attack, but also had to wait until the 38th minute, the first delicious opportunity appeared with Man City.
Receiving a pass from a teammate, Raheem Sterling escaped to face the goalkeeper. Unfortunately, his shot failed to beat the Sporting Lisbon goalkeeper.
At the beginning of the second half, Gabriel Jesus shot the away team's net in a tight corner. But after consulting VAR, the referee determined that the Brazilian striker was offside, so the goal was disallowed.
In the following period, Man City continued to be the dominant team but no goals were scored. The fact is that the Green Man is not too keen on attacking, so the game goes on without obvious opportunities.
In the end, Man City drew Sporting Lisbon 0-0 in the rematch at the Etihad, but that was enough for them to win tickets to the Champions League quarter-finals. So far, four clubs have been identified as Man City, Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Real Madrid.
Squad
Man City: Ederson, Zinchenko, Laporte, Stones, Egan-Riley, Fernandinho, Gundogan, Sterling, Bernardo Silva, Foden, Jesus
Sporting Lisbon: Adan, Luis Carlos, Coates, Inacio, Matheus Reis, Porro, Ugarte, Bruno Tabata, Sarabia, Slimani, Paulinho
Frank Lampard blamed individual errors rather than tactical disarray or poor attitude for Everton’s 5-0 thrashing by Tottenham after another miserable away performance from a side that last celebrated a league victory outside Goodison Park in August.
In their last home game Everton restricted Manchester City to a close-fought and contentious 1-0 win, but in their last two away matches they have not produced a single shot on goal. In a one-sided match in north London they allowed Harry Kane to score twice while Son Heung-min, Sergio ReguilĂ³n and an own goal from Michael Keane completed a miserable evening.
“It’s night and day,” Lampard said. “Really good last week – discipline, game plan, work ethic. And we started the game well today. The first 15 minutes looked like I wanted it to, but the crucial part of Tottenham’s game as a counterattacking team is to find space behind you and the players were aware of that and didn’t deal with it. If you’re going to do that you make your own problems.
“The main issues were mistakes and bad defending for the goals. It wasn’t just the defensive situations – at the top end of the pitch we didn’t show enough. Even when we were in relative control we didn’t threaten their backline. There’s a clear discrepancy in home and away form, issues that were there before me and don’t take care of themselves overnight. But rather than being about home and away, if you make those mistakes you’re going to struggle. It’s important to remain positive but we can’t shy away from the mistakes we made tonight.”
Tottenham now go into Saturday’s game at Manchester United on a high, and knowing that victory would take them above their opponents in the hotly contested chase for the final Champions League place.
“It was an important performance tonight, a really good performance,” Antonio Conte said. “We scored five goals, we create chances to improve the final result, and I have seen that when we have more time to prepare, to play against us is difficult for everybody.
“From tomorrow we have to start to think about Saturday, a crucial game for us. I put this target to my team – we have to try to stay until the end, very close to the top teams. From my arrival to now we are stronger, and I think that we can fight for this target. It’s important to have this ambition. To finish in the top four for us would be like we won the Champions League, like we won the Premier League this season.”

Since the start of the season, Saka has contributed to 13 Premier League goals for Arsenal, more than any player under the age of 21.
Saka continues to show impressive form
In Arsenal's suffocating 3-2 victory over Watford at Vicarage Road recently, Saka provided an assist for Odegaard to open the scoring before punishing Tom Cleverly's mistake with a goal to increase the score to 2. -1 for the away team.
Over 25 matches in the Premier League, the English midfielder has scored 8 goals and has 5 assists. With his contribution to 13 goals for the Gunners since the beginning of the season, Saka became the player under the age of 21 to contribute the most goals for the team. Even Saka's teammate on the England line - Phil Foden has only 7 goals and 3 assists for Man City since the beginning of the season.
Among the U21 players playing in Europe's top national championships, only Bayer Lverkusen's Florian Wirtz has more goals and assists for the team than Saka. Florian Wirtz has been involved in 17 goals for Leverkusen since the start of the season.
Not only Saka, but other young Arsenal stars are also having a memorable season. This season, Arsenal have had three players under the age of 21 score more than 5 goals in the Premier League (Saka, Martinelli and Smith Rowe). In Premier League history, Arsenal 2021/2022 is the fourth team to achieve this achievement, after Chelsea 2019-20, Leeds 1998-99 and Man Utd 1995-96.
Victory over Watford helped Arteta's teachers and students return to the top 4 (after MU and West Ham lost to Man City and Liverpool). Arsenal is currently the team that has a lot of advantages in the race to attend the Champions League next season when kicking less than competitors such as West Ham or MU.

Middlesbrough produced another FA Cup shock to extend Tottenham’s long wait for silverware with a 1-0 win after extra time at the Riverside on Tuesday, while Manchester City eased into the last eight with a 2-0 victory at Peterborough.
Boro knocked out Manchester United at Old Trafford in the fourth round and the Championship side were worthy winners to condemn Spurs to another trophy less season.
Not since a League Cup win in 2008 have Tottenham lifted a trophy and another hugely disappointing defeat poses further questions over the future of manager Antonio Conte.
The Italian only took charge in November, but has already hinted he could walk away after a run of four defeats in the past six Premier League games.
“We have to give our best for the rest of the season then we will see what is our position and the evaluation of our season,” said Conte. “It is early to say something about this.”
Teenager Josh Coburn came off the bench to score the only goal with a thumping finish across Hugo Lloris in the 107th minute.
“In between the win at Manchester United and here we got turned over at Barnsley. Football is a ridiculous game,” said Boro manager Chris Wilder. “The supporters gave us the energy to produce a top performance.”
Wilder’s men might not have been forced to play the extra 30 minutes had Matt Crooks connected with a free header from a corner.
Harry Kane did have the ball in the net for Tottenham only to be flagged offside.
But the England captain may also be again considering his future as he waits to win the first major honour of his career.
Middlesbrough were by far the brighter side in extra time and got their reward when Coburn rifled across Lloris from Crooks’ through ball.
Earlier, Oleksandr Zinchenko captained City as classy finishes from Riyad Mahrez and Jack Grealish sent the English champions through.
Ukrainian international Zinchenko took the armband in his first appearance since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Fernandinho had initially been listed as City skipper for the tie, but the Brazilian, who signed from Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk, offered the role to Zinchenko in a show of solidarity.
“It’s not an easy period for Oleks. His family, his country but playing football is the best for him at the moment,” said City boss Pep Guardiola.
Zinchenko and Peterborough captain Frankie Kent held a Ukrainian flag together as they led the teams out at the start of the match.
Once the action got underway, Guardiola’s men took time to make the breakthrough against a side sitting bottom of the Championship.
Mahrez took his tally for the season to an impressive 19 goals in just 32 appearances as the Algerian cleverly guided the ball into the far corner from a narrow angle on the hour mark.
Grealish has had a far less productive season since his £100 million (A$184 million) move from Aston Villa.
But he marked his return from injury with a sublime touch to control Phil Foden’s long through ball before slotting past Steven Benda for his fourth City goal.
“While we were on the coach on the way to the game, I was sat next to Phil and we were scrolling through videos of (Lionel) Messi,” said Grealish.
“After scoring he came up to me and said it was just like we were watching.”
Crystal Palace also booked their place in the quarter-finals with a 2-1 win over Stoke.
Cheikhou Kouyate and Jairo Riedewald struck for the Eagles either side of Josh Tymon’s equaliser.

The 20-year-old attacking midfielder is impressing at Shimizu S-Pulse and has been attracting interest from clubs in Belgium and Scotland.
It’s fair to say that Japanese footballers have been making a big impression in Europe of late.
From Takumi Minamino to Takehiro Tomiyasu, the veteran Maya Yoshida at Sampdoria and the impressive Takefuso Kubo at Mallorca, to the exciting quartet of new arrivals at Celtic, the J-League is increasingly well-represented among the continent’s top leagues.
How long, one wonders, before the name Yuito Suzuki is added to the list?
The 20-year-old, who plays for Shimizu S-Pulse, has already been attracting interest from clubs in both Belgium and Scotland, and is likely to make the move to Europe at some point this year.
He has already earned his first call-up for the national team, training alongside the likes of Minamino and Kubo ahead of last month’s World Cup qualifiers against China and Saudi Arabia.
“An honour,” he called it, although he did not feature in the games as it turned out.
A skilful, versatile attacker, Suzuki idolises Kevin De Bruyne, the Manchester City star, and has been compared to Minamino on account of his dynamism, quick feet and eye for a pass.
Like the Liverpool man, he is capable of playing anywhere across the forward line, or as the third midfielder in a 4-3-3, though he views the ‘second striker’ position as his most comfortable.
"My strength is that I can play in any [attacking] position,” he says. “What is required of me is to receive the ball in the gaps of the opponents and link it to the attack."
That much was evident during the opening game of the J-League season, Suzuki scoring a superb goal and winning the player of the match award as Shimizu drew with Consadole Sapporo.
“I've missed a lot of shots, so I still need to score more goals for the supporters to recognise me,” he said after the game.
“It's only the first game and I want to keep working hard. I want people to see that my finishing in front of goal has improved this season.”
Born in the town of Hayama, in the Kanagawa region of Japan, Suzuki was initially on the books of Yokohama F Marinos as a youngster, but chose Shimizu, he says, because of “the atmosphere within the club” and because it has a reputation for producing good footballers.
Shinji Okazaki, a Premier League winner with Leicester, is among those to have emerged with S-Pa, who have also housed the likes of Freddie Ljungberg, Daniele Massaro and the great Brazilian showman Djalminha down the years.
Suzuki shares an agent with Minamino, who made the move to the Premier League with Liverpool a little over two years ago, and is keen to follow the example set by him and Tomiyasu, who joined Arsenal from Bologna last summer.
The importance of role models, he says, is huge.
He hopes to be involved when Japan take on Australia in a huge World Cup qualifier in Sydney next month.
Victory there would secure the Samurai Blue’s place in Qatar, while defeat would leave them needing to beat Vietnam in their final match, while hoping the Socceroos fail to defeat Saudi Arabia in theirs.
In the meantime, the focus will be on performing consistently for Shimizu S-Pulse, who finished 14th in the J-League last season but have greater ambitions this time around under Hiroaki Hiraoki, who replaced Miguel Angel Lotina, the former Villarreal, Espanyol and Real Sociedad boss, in November.
Deliver there, and Europe surely beckons for Suzuki.

Man United won an impressive 4-2 victory right at Leeds' field. And social media has really exploded because of the performance of the Red Devils, Harry Maguire and Jadon Sancho. However, Cristiano Ronaldo is subject to many criticisms.
In the Leeds vs MU match in round 26 of the English Premier League, the Red Devils won with a dramatic score of 4-2. Maguire and Bruno helped MU take a 2-0 lead, but Rodrigo and Raphinha scored two goals in the first half to equalize the score. However, MU still has 3 points after Fred and Elanga scored in the last minutes.
After the match, fans were very excited for MU's performance:
- Maguire deserves to be the captain too.
- Bruno Fernandes is the best midfielder in the world.
- A superb performance.
- That's the Man United we want.
- 3 points, top 4 and a brave match.
Maguire scored his first goal in the Premier League 2021/22 and ended more than a year without scoring from MU's corner. Meanwhile, Bruno contributed 1 goal and 1 impressive assist.
However, it was Jadon Sancho who got the highest score. The £73m rookie topped the list for most passes, most touches in the box, most passes in the third third of the pitch and, importantly, two assists.
After the match, he received a rain of compliments from fans:
- Sancho is showing he's worth every penny.
- Sancho is a special player and United are lucky to have him.
- Rangnick is starting to know how to exploit Sancho.
- Rashford should look at Sancho and learn.
However, there is a star who was not honored after MU's victory. That's Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese superstar missed an extremely delicious scoring situation after a cross like Paul Pogba's placed.
The situation happened in the 26th minute. After receiving a pass from Pogba from the left wing, Ronaldo rushed to approach the ball from a distance of about 3 meters. However, I don't understand why CR7 could not defeat goalkeeper Illan Meslier.
Ronaldo made a shot straight at the goalkeeper on the Leeds side, making many people regret it. On social networks, many MU fans criticized Ronaldo with heavy words:
Ronaldo just missed a shot at a distance of about 3 meters. Can not understand. How could Ronaldo not score in that situation. Ronaldo's embarrassing miss, causing Pogba to lose an assist. There are questions to Ronaldo when he misses this situation. It's shocking.
How did Ronaldo miss a good chance, and Maguire score in the same game?
3 points in this match helps Man United maintain 4th place in the Premier League table and is full of confidence before facing Atletico Madrid in the first leg of the 1/8 Champions League round in the middle of this week.

Match report and free highlights as Liverpool cut the gap to Manchester City to nine points with a 2-0 win over Leicester; Diogo Jota scored twice for Jurgen Klopp's side; Mohamed Salah appeared as a substitute after his AFCON exertions
Liverpool kept their slim title hopes alive as Diogo Jota's double secured a commanding 2-0 win over Leicester at Anfield.
Jota turned home from close range after Kasper Schmeichel had parried Virgil van Dijk's header (34), then fired in from a Joel Matip pass (87) to seal the win and put Liverpool back within nine points of leaders Manchester City with a game in hand.
The Reds were without Sadio Mane following his late return from the Africa Cup of Nations while Jurgen Klopp resisted the urge to start Mohamed Salah, who was named on the bench following Egypt's defeat to Senegal in Sunday's final.
But Jota stepped up again in their absence, taking his goal tally for the season to 17, while there was also an impressive Premier League debut from Luis Diaz, their January signing from Porto.
Salah did emerge from the bench in the second half, receiving a rapturous ovation from the Anfield crowd before striking the woodwork with a curling effort and twice seeing Schmeichel deny him on other occasions.
Salah did emerge from the bench in the second half, receiving a rapturous ovation from the Anfield crowd before striking the woodwork with a curling effort and twice seeing Schmeichel deny him on other occasions.
It was Jota's night, though, his second goal coming after Liverpool had missed a succession of chances and confirming a fifth consecutive home win in the Premier League which leaves Leicester, still reeling from their 4-1 loss to Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup on Sunday, in 12th place.
Brendan Rodgers' side defended resolutely for the opening half-hour and had bright moments in attack too, most notably when James Maddison's angled effort was superbly saved by Alisson after the Leicester man had exchanged passes with Ademola Lookman.
Player ratings
Liverpool: Alisson (7), Alexander-Arnold (8), Matip (8), Van Dijk (8), Robertson (8), Fabinho (7), Thiago (7), Jones (6), Diaz (8), Firmino (6), Jota (9).
Subs: Salah (7), Elliott (7), Minamino (6).
Leicester: Schmeichel (8), Justin (6), Amartey (7), Ndidi (6), Thomas (6), Dewsbury-Hall (6), Soumare (6), Lookman (6), Maddison (7), Albrighton (6), Daka (5).
Subs: Tielemans (6), Iheanacho (6), Barnes (6).
Man of the match: Diogo Jota
But once again a set-piece proved their undoing as Van Dijk powered Trent Alexander-Arnold's corner goalwards, with Jota slamming home the rebound after Schmeichel's initial save.
Liverpool controlled the game from then on, with Diaz's speed and directness causing Leicester problems on their right flank, and the pressure on the visitors increased after Salah's introduction for Roberto Firmino on the hour mark.
The Egyptian suffered Africa Cup of Nations heartbreak with Sunday's penalty shootout defeat to Senegal but played like a man with a point to prove on his return to Anfield.
He was bravely denied by Schmeichel after turning away from two Leicester players in the box, and the Dane then pulled off an even better save when he raced through on goal after latching onto an errant pass by Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
Diaz spurned chances too, slashing wide from a Jota pass, then shooting too close to Schmeichel after Salah played him in on goal with a delightful through-ball on the edge of the Leicester box.
But Jota's clinical second, when he shot on the turn from Matip's pass, his effort too powerful for Schmeichel, finally broke the visitors' resistance and gave Liverpool the two-goal cushion their dominant performance deserved.
Klopp hails 'outstanding' Jota
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp praised Liverpool hero Diogo Jota afterwards, telling BT Sport: "With the first goal, when you are in a goalscoring moment, then you are there.
"That's exactly what's happening for Diogo at the moment. I'm really happy for him and it's really helpful for us.
Asked if he expected the Portugal international to become a goal poacher, Klopp added: "We had a sense that it could happen. Diogo was not a bargain, it was not as if we got him for free.
"But the first thing that was obvious about him was his potential that was there, the work-rate that he puts in - that was the most important thing.
"If you have that, then there is always space for improvement. He's still a really young lad so you have to make the next steps in the team with us where we create much more chances than, with all due respect, Wolves did.
"You need a bit of fantasy for that and imagination, but we really thought he would be an outstanding player. He was already when he came here but he has improved."
Rodgers: Leicester restored pride
Despite the result, Brendan Rodgers felt Leicester's battling performance restored some pride after their embarrassing FA Cup loss to Nottingham Forest.
"One-hundred per cent," he said. "I think tonight was not just about the result, it was about restoring pride.
"We saw the supporters at the end applauding the players off. They gave absolutely everything in the game." They showed some real moments of quality and we took a top team right until the end.
"It was much more like us. Tactically, we were good in the game and organized. We got into some good areas.
"My only disappointment was that we lacked that little bit of care and precision in the final third, otherwise we could have made more chances."
Anfield a fortress for Liverpool
Liverpool are the only remaining Premier League side yet to lose on home soil this season and have now won 11 of their last 15 Premier League games at Anfield, scoring at least twice in 12 of those games (34 in total).
Leicester have conceded more goals from corners (10) than any other Premier League side this season, while their tally of 18 conceded from all set-piece situations equals their number from the entire 2020-21 league campaign.
Liverpool striker Diogo Jota has netted 17 goals in all competitions this season, making 2021-22 his outright best goalscoring season as a Premier League player. Only teammate Mohamed Salah (23) has scored more goals amongst all Premier League players in all competitions this season.
Trent Alexander-Arnold (23y 126d) tonight appeared in his 150th Premier League game for Liverpool, the youngest to do so for the club since Michael Owen back in 2002 (22y 134d). The defender has 43 assists to his name in the competition, a tally bettered by just six players after their 150th appearance.

Arsenal beat Wolves at Molineux 1-0 on Thursday night in the Premier League thanks to a first-half Gabriel Magalhaes goal despite playing much of the second half down a man.
Arsenal took the lead in the 25th minute when Gabriel poked home from close range after a goalmouth scramble following a corner kick by the visitors. It was Arsenal's first goal in all competitions since Bukayo Saka scored in a 2-1 loss to Manchester City on New Year's Day.
Saka nearly teed Alexandre Lacazette up for Arsenal's second just before half-time after a nice team move, but the France forward's first-time shot was right at Wolves keeper Jose Sa and the Gunners settled for a 1-0 lead at the break.
A frantic second half saw Mikel Arteta's side left to finish with 10 players after Gabriel Martinelli was shown two yellow cards in succession and was sent off in the 69th minute.
It was Arsenal's 12th red card since Arteta's first match in charge in December of 2019, by far the most in the Premier League in that span with Brighton and Hove Albion and Southampton a distant second with seven each.
"It's the first time I've seen a red card like this in 18 years that I've been in this league," Arteta said.
Asked about his side's poor disciplinary record, Arteta said they cannot afford to keep ending games with 10 men.
"We know that playing with 10 men in this league you're not gonna get points, enough points, the points that we want and we have to stop it," the Spaniard said.
"But to be fair it's difficult to find more arguments and more ways to transmit that to the players. Everybody says it's the most disciplined group they've seen in the last 15 years, but still we are getting red card for other things."
Despite going down a man, Lacazette found himself in on goal seconds later with only Sa to beat, but his curling effort on Wolves goal flew just outside of the far post.
The hosts took advantage of the extra man and piled on the pressure to the Gunners defence in the final 10 minutes with Aaron Ramsdale making a nice reflex save and Rob Holding clearing a goal bound effort off the line.
Victory lifted Arsenal into fifth place with 39 points from 22 games while Wolves, who could have gone above the Gunners, remain in eighth position.

Pep Guardiola has sensationally claimed that Manchester City full-back Joao Cancelo was the squad's best winger, in the 2-0 victory over Brentford on Wednesday night.
The Portugal international has been renowned for his versatility so far this season, with Cancelo often operating in the left-back position while Kyle Walker holds down the berth on the opposite side of the defensive line.
However, operating in a full-back position for Manchester City is far from straight forward, and the performance of Joao Cancelo against Brentford highlighted this to be the case as he offered plenty in an attacking sense.
Speaking after the 2-0 victory at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night on the subject of John Stones - who operated at right-back - and Joao Cancelo, Pep Guardiola was full of praise.
Guardiola said, "Joao (Cancelo) and John Stones both (were crucial)."
"Without John (Stones) it wouldn't be possible. He read perfectly the movement to break their (Brentford's) structure. He did it incredibly well."
Continuing on the performance of Cancelo, Pep Guardiola said, "Joao (Cancelo), he was our best winger (vs Brentford). To dribble past three (players) and shoot, our wingers couldn't do it. He's in incredibly top form."
Cancelo is expected to maintain his crucial role in the Manchester City team as Pep Guardiola's side enter a period of crucial and relentless fixtures including the Champions League last-16 double-header against Sporting Lisbon.
While Manchester City are now appealing the decision, Cancelo could return to right-back in the Champions League last-16 and a possible quarter-final first-leg, with Kyle Walker currently sitting on a three-match ban for what UEFA described as 'assault' against RB Leipzig in early December.

Coach Pep Guardiola is expected to accept an invitation to lead the Dutch national team and this makes MU lose the opportunity to have the service of the strategist they always wanted.
A few days ago, many international sources confirmed that coach Pep Guardiola will leave Man City after his contract expires next summer to accept an invitation to lead the Dutch national team. This is the first time that Pep has fulfilled his dream of leading a national team that he has cherished for a long time.
Until today, news from the country of Tulip suddenly revealed that Erik ten Hag would turn down the invitation of Manchester United. Accordingly, the current captain of Ajax will stay in Amsterdam for one more season and wait for Pep to leave Man City. The reason is that The Citizens is really the team that Mr. Ten Hag wants to join.
Previously, MU was said to have targeted Erik ten Hag as the most important target for the official coach position next season to replace Ralf Rangnick. However, Guardiola's move created a domino effect and it directly affected the Old Trafford team.
At this time, MU has only 3 possible names to replace Rangnick at Old Trafford: Mauricio Pochettino, Lopetegui, and Luis Enrique. Among the people mentioned above, the person who is most likely to lead the Red Devils is Mr. Pochettino. Accordingly, many sources from France have confirmed that Pochettino will be fired in the next few days and Zinedine Zidane will be the one to take power.
Pochettino is someone who is familiar with English football when he has had a successful time with Southampton and Tottenham. However, the poor performance of the Argentinian military leader at PSG made BLD MU have to consider a lot about this decision.
