Man City will... not win the Champions League

As soon as the 1/8 Champions League round ended, Liverpool won a very important 2-0 victory on Arsenal's field, in… Premier League. The important thing is: this victory helps Liverpool to shorten the gap with the top team Man City to only 1 point, in a situation where people once thought that Man City was considered to have won the Premier League.

Saying that to see: although it is losing points, but Liverpool is better than Man City in terms of spirit, spirit, style... These are all details that show the terrible power of Liverpool, further confirming the position of the championship candidate. Champions League of this team, although the Champions League is not the Premier League. What is the common ground?

In the Premier League, observers admit Mikel Arteta's Arsenal just had a good game. People sobbed in praise of Gabriel Martinelli at Arsenal. But in short, Liverpool wins. They scored the important goal right after escaping the goal. And when there was a goal, Liverpool became solid, Arsenal had no way to find the balance again.

On the one hand, the title in the Premier League and the Champions League is equally important. Liverpool is facing a historic opportunity, so that if it "eats 4" this season, it will definitely have to be considered the greatest team ever, in the homeland of football. Therefore, Juergen Klopp's teachers and students must cherish every opportunity they have, neatly exploit each good ball, take advantage of every small opportunity. On the other hand, what has just been mentioned is the core detail, required to conquer the Champions League. Why is Man City not eligible to win the Champions League for the rest of his life? More importantly, why can't even Pep Guardiola help Man City to the throne? That's because Guardiola's Man City does not have the unique details that Liverpool have just shown.

Man City won the Premier League too easily, over the years. Just spread the money. And if not, spread more money. If Guardiola doesn't buy a good goalkeeper, he will buy a better one. He bought 3-4 top defenders in the world, still not done, then bought 1-2 more rock defenders. Just like that, more than 1 billion pounds in just 6 years - Guardiola himself has turned himself into a rich man as obnoxious as the Man City team "spending money on the temple". Because he was so permissive, Guardiola was no longer in the mood to realize his weak point to improve: his ability to coach in the game.

Reading and adjusting tactics right in the game is not a feature of a big, philosophical football team. That is the characteristic of small teams, must "whether the rice picks up the fish sauce", must think in each match, each ball phase. Guardiola's Man City is to be as epic as a winning machine, why wait and see and adjust in the game. They don't need that ability, nor do they have it. Of course, whenever there is a conversation, kicking a very strong opponent or kicking in a deadlock situation, Guardiola's Man City is not able to adjust the important places. It's been a feature for many years, it's not easy to fix!

Why is Arsenal happy when MU is eliminated from the Champions League?

Man United's defeat to Atletico cost England a representative in the Champions League but it was a joy for Arsenal.

Losing 0-1 to Atletico at Old Trafford, MU was eliminated from the 1/8 round of the Champions League. What does this have to do with Arsenal?

It's actually quite relevant. Currently, Arsenal is the team with the best chance of finishing the season in 4th place, which means a place in the Champions League next season. This will be a huge achievement for Mikel Artete's teachers and students if they know that the last time they attended this playground was in 2017.

However, since 2013, UEFA has stipulated that each member federation is only allowed to have a maximum of 5 clubs participating in the Champions League. So it will happen that if MU wins the Champions League and West Ham win the Europa League, these two teams will automatically have tickets to the Champions League next season, regardless of whether their position in the Premier League is outside the Top. 4 or not.

If that happens, MU, West Ham will join the top 3 teams in the Champions League, and the 4th team, Arsenal will have to go down to the Europa League. Now, that small risk is gone and the Gunners have complete control of all decisions in their hands.

At the moment, Arsenal are 1 point ahead of MU and have played less than 3 matches. The chance for them to finish in the Top 4 is very much. However, the road ahead is still very difficult. On tonight, the Gunners will have to welcome superpower Liverpool at home.

Not stopping there, Arsenal's schedule is still full of pitfalls with great battles against Chelsea and a direct confrontation with MU.

Crystal Palace 0-0 Man City result: Blue Man's disastrous fall

In the latest match in the 29th round of the Premier League between Crystal Palace and Man City, Pep Guardiola's teachers and students were powerless to penetrate the home team's net, thereby creating a great opportunity for rivals Liverpool to narrow. difference down to 1 point.

With the superior quality of the squad, Man City quickly imposed the match on Palace. The first opportunity came to the visitors in the 14th minute, when goalkeeper Vicente Guaita caught the ball after Kevin de Bruyne's long shot. Bernardo Silva had the opportunity to rush into the mud, but he handled it very poorly.

In the following period, Man City continued to attack heavily, causing Palace to struggle to resist. In the 27th minute, defender Joao Cancelo fired a long-range cannon and sent the ball back to the home post. At the end of the first half, Riyad Mahrez corrected his technique with his left foot, but the ball narrowly missed the Palace column.

After the first 45 minutes, Man City held the ball to more than 70%, launched 14 shots, more than 3 times Palace but completely helpless in finding a goal.

In the second half, it was still a one-way match in favor of Man City. Knowing that he knew me, Palace pulled the squad down to "build a double-decker bus". The home team's defensive kick somewhat makes the strikers of Man City impatient. Quite a few opportunities were created by Man City, but Phil Foden, Jack Grealish or Mahrez were all inaccurate in the final situations.

The defense is tight, but Palace is not lacking in opportunities. They proved to be full of discomfort in quick counter-attacks thanks to the speed of Wilfried Zaha or Michael Olise. However, Palace lacked a bit of sharpness to kill Man City.

In the end, Man City was held to a 0-0 draw by Palace. This is the second time this season that Palace made Guardiola's teachers and students unable to score. In the first leg at Etihad, The Eagles even beat the Blue Man 2-0.

This disastrous draw did not make Man City lose the top spot in the Premier League 2021/22, when they still held the top of the table with 70. However, the Green Man opened a great opportunity for Liverpool to narrow the points gap. The score will be reduced to 1 point if you beat Arsenal in the match on March 17. Currently, Liverpool owns 66 points and plays 1 game less than Man City. The championship race is getting more dramatic than ever.

Squad

Crystal Palace: Guaita, Mitchell, Guehi, Andersen, Clyne, Schlupp, Kouyate, Gallagher, Zaha, Mateta, Olise.

Man City: Ederson, Walker, Laporte, Stones, Cancelo, Rodri, De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva, Mahrez, Foden, Grealish.

Bukayo Saka leads the U21 star lineup in the Premier League

Since the start of the season, Saka has contributed to 13 Premier League goals for Arsenal, more than any player under the age of 21.

Saka continues to show impressive form

In Arsenal's suffocating 3-2 victory over Watford at Vicarage Road recently, Saka provided an assist for Odegaard to open the scoring before punishing Tom Cleverly's mistake with a goal to increase the score to 2. -1 for the away team.

Over 25 matches in the Premier League, the English midfielder has scored 8 goals and has 5 assists. With his contribution to 13 goals for the Gunners since the beginning of the season, Saka became the player under the age of 21 to contribute the most goals for the team. Even Saka's teammate on the England line - Phil Foden has only 7 goals and 3 assists for Man City since the beginning of the season.

Among the U21 players playing in Europe's top national championships, only Bayer Lverkusen's Florian Wirtz has more goals and assists for the team than Saka. Florian Wirtz has been involved in 17 goals for Leverkusen since the start of the season.

Not only Saka, but other young Arsenal stars are also having a memorable season. This season, Arsenal have had three players under the age of 21 score more than 5 goals in the Premier League (Saka, Martinelli and Smith Rowe). In Premier League history, Arsenal 2021/2022 is the fourth team to achieve this achievement, after Chelsea 2019-20, Leeds 1998-99 and Man Utd 1995-96.

Victory over Watford helped Arteta's teachers and students return to the top 4 (after MU and West Ham lost to Man City and Liverpool). Arsenal is currently the team that has a lot of advantages in the race to attend the Champions League next season when kicking less than competitors such as West Ham or MU.

Highlights Napoli 2-4 Barca: Xavi gradually revives total football

The second leg of the Europa League play-off round between Napoli and Barca witnessed the all-out offensive football being gradually revived by coach Xavi Hernandez at the Catalan team.

#1 Xavi gradually revives total football

Marching to Diego Armando Maradona's stadium with a kick from a jubilant 4-1 victory over Valencia in La Liga last weekend, Barcelona entered the game very quickly and soon decided the match after only... 13 minutes of the ball rolling when it was involved. followed by two goals to take the lead after a quick transition of attack status.

In addition to the brilliance of all three rookies who kicked the highest in attack, the highlight of Barcelona's jubilant 4-2 victory last night came from the total offensive play that coach Xavi Hernandez's team showed. The 4 goals that the away team scored were spread across the lines, in which the defense contributed to two names.

Notably, Barcelona's 4 goals came from only 6 shots on target, the conversion efficiency is quite impressive, it is in stark contrast to what the team showed under the reign of former coach Ronald Koeman .

#2 Recreate the miracle of 1959

Marching to Italy has never been easy for Barcelona. However, with a jubilant victory 4-2 last night, the Catalan team was able to equalize the feat that their predecessors have done since September 1959, when they scored 4 goals against a team. Italy on their home ground.

The last time Barcelona did this was when they beat host Inter Milan with a score of 4-2 like last night's match in the Fairs Cup in September 1959.

#3 Remembering Maradona and protesting the war

Before the match, players from both teams sent a message against the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine by standing close together with a banner with the words: Stop War.

Also in this match, the organizers as well as the players of both teams also took a minute to pay tribute to the legendary Diego Maradona, who played for both Barcelona and Napoli. In the 10th minute, the match was stopped and the entire stadium named after the Argentinian legend stood up in unison to applaud to pay respects to the "Golden Boy".

#4 Smile and make santo back with Aubameyang

Striker Pierre-Emerich Aubameyang has had a forgettable start to the season at Arsenal, when he has repeatedly lost his position, dropped in form, violated discipline and culminated in being stripped of the captaincy. The last drop of water, the Gabon star decided to leave the Emirates Stadium to save his career and Barcelona was a welcoming team.

Aubameyang's talent is unquestionable and when inspiration returned, the striker quickly shone. After scoring a hat-trick in his first official match for Barcelona last weekend, Aubameyang continued to prove his class with his fourth goal for the Nou Camp team, thereby knocking out his will to fight. Napoli host.

Smiles have returned to Aubameyang, goal celebrations with enchanting santo reenactment of the pitch.

Highlights Arsenal 2-1 Wolves: Value of Pepe

The Arsenal vs Wolves match was much more difficult than expected for the home team, but fortunately, coach Arteta still had strategic backup cards like Nicolas Pepe.

#1 ARTETA STOCK CHANGES

Playing at home, but Arsenal faced many difficulties against Wolves. The Gunners' starting strikers, especially Alexandre Lacazette, had a lot of opportunities, but they were all ungainly. It was only when coach Arteta put Pepe on the field in the 71st minute that the turning point of the match came.

Pepe was the equalizer for the Gunners after another assist from another substitute, Nketiah. Not stopping there, Pepe was also the one who launched the decisive pass to let Lacazette finish, before being "converted" into an own goal by goalkeeper Jose Sa. This is only Pepe's 11th match in the Premier League this season, of which only 5 starts. In all competitions, Pepe has only scored 3 goals (1 in the Premier League).

#2 WOLVES SUCCESSFUL BREAKING

Many people may not believe it, but Wolves are extremely sure every time they get the lead. The latest defeat to Arsenal is the first reverse defeat for the Wolves since November 2018. That is, Wolves have gone through 45 matches without losing when they opened the scoring.

This is quite unfortunate for the Wolves because they kept 1 point until the 5th minute of injury time at Emirates. Wolves are also in high form after 2 consecutive victories against Tottenham and Leicester.

#3 ARSENAL's STRONG STRONG SPIRIT

Goalkeeper Jose Sa's own goal (minutes 94 seconds 56) is Arsenal's latest goal in the Premier League since January 2017. At that time, Alexis Sanchez successfully made a penalty against Burnley in the 97th minute and 14th minute.

Obviously, the spirit of fighting to the end, never giving up of the young army in Arteta's hands was shown. This is the spirit that at the beginning of the season, Gunners fans could not see. But now, it has become the hallmark of Arsenal.

#4 STILL WRONG

Arsenal showed a very positive side late in the game but the Gunners defense's ability to concentrate early in the game was still questioned. In just 10 minutes of the ball rolling, Ramsdale's goal was always put on alert.

Midfielder Saiss even managed to get the ball into Arsenal's net but the goal was disallowed for offside. But not long after that, Gabriel "offered his mouth" to open the scoring for Hwang Hee Chan by returning carelessly to Ramsdale. This was the direct error leading to the 7th goal that the Gunners have this season.

#5 TOP 4 DOOR WIDE

With 3 points won, Arsenal is only 1 point behind the 4th ranked team, MU. Most importantly, the Gunners still have 2 unplayed matches in hand. Overall, Arteta's team's chance to be in the Top 4 is extremely bright.

The upcoming fixture is also quite supportive of Arsenal when they only have to meet Watford, Leicester, Liverpool, Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, Brighton, Southampton respectively... In addition to the difficult Liverpool, the remaining opponents are all below Arsenal's range. this time.

“I’ve been the solution” claims Mikel Arteta in response to Auba

Mikel Arteta has offered his perspective on an outburst from recently departed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang proclaiming the Arsenal boss was behind his exit.

The 32-year-old joined Spanish giants Barcelona on deadline-day after a bizarre chain of events saw the striker fly to Catalunya, be told a loan move was off, then fly home, before a permanent move was confirmed with hours remaining in the window.

Following four tumultuous years in North London, the Gunners’ club captain’s relationship with Arteta deteriorated before ultimately reaching the point of no return.

Behind the demise; the Gabonese international’s conduct behind the scenes. Resulting in a series of disciplinaries allegedly relating to punctuality among other problems.

Last week, Aubameyang protested that his abrupt move away from the club wasn’t through his own doing, exclaiming, “I think the problem was only with Arteta and he made the decision”.

Speaking in a press conference ahead of Arsenal’s trip to Wolves on Thursday night, his former head coach responded to the comments.

That’s his opinion, that’s what he said and you have to respect that. I’m extremely grateful for what Auba has done and his contribution. The way I see myself in that relationship is the solution, not the problem.

I’ve been the solution, 100%. I can look in the eye of anybody. I do a lot of things wrong for sure. The intention all the time is the best — and not for me, it’s for the club and the team.

I think it ended up in the best possible way for everybody. We all made the decision and the best thing was to move on.

Whether the move was in the best interests of all parties is yet to be seen, but Arsenal’s failure to strengthen an already weakened area up front suggests they are in a worse position than prior to the January transfer window.

In the weeks leading up to his departure, Aubameyang had been outcasted from Arteta’s plans, forcing the Spaniard to turn to the experienced Alexandre Lacazette and academy graduate Eddie Nketiah.

Neither two have managed to surmount a push for the coveted number 9 role, bringing into question how costly Arsenal’s lack of business last month may prove in their quest for Champions League qualification.

In defence of the two, Arteta said:

They are both more than capable of scoring for us and have shown that over the years. When we have to replace or improve the squad, we can only be with a player we are certain of.

As a result of Aubameyang’s switch, the aforementioned are now poised to fight for a starting spot before their side look to invest in the summer.

Arsenal outlast Wolves at Molineux despite finishing with 10 players

Arsenal beat Wolves at Molineux 1-0 on Thursday night in the Premier League thanks to a first-half Gabriel Magalhaes goal despite playing much of the second half down a man.

Arsenal took the lead in the 25th minute when Gabriel poked home from close range after a goalmouth scramble following a corner kick by the visitors. It was Arsenal's first goal in all competitions since Bukayo Saka scored in a 2-1 loss to Manchester City on New Year's Day.

Saka nearly teed Alexandre Lacazette up for Arsenal's second just before half-time after a nice team move, but the France forward's first-time shot was right at Wolves keeper Jose Sa and the Gunners settled for a 1-0 lead at the break.

A frantic second half saw Mikel Arteta's side left to finish with 10 players after Gabriel Martinelli was shown two yellow cards in succession and was sent off in the 69th minute.

It was Arsenal's 12th red card since Arteta's first match in charge in December of 2019, by far the most in the Premier League in that span with Brighton and Hove Albion and Southampton a distant second with seven each.

"It's the first time I've seen a red card like this in 18 years that I've been in this league," Arteta said.

Asked about his side's poor disciplinary record, Arteta said they cannot afford to keep ending games with 10 men.

"We know that playing with 10 men in this league you're not gonna get points, enough points, the points that we want and we have to stop it," the Spaniard said.

"But to be fair it's difficult to find more arguments and more ways to transmit that to the players. Everybody says it's the most disciplined group they've seen in the last 15 years, but still we are getting red card for other things."

Despite going down a man, Lacazette found himself in on goal seconds later with only Sa to beat, but his curling effort on Wolves goal flew just outside of the far post.

The hosts took advantage of the extra man and piled on the pressure to the Gunners defence in the final 10 minutes with Aaron Ramsdale making a nice reflex save and Rob Holding clearing a goal bound effort off the line.

Victory lifted Arsenal into fifth place with 39 points from 22 games while Wolves, who could have gone above the Gunners, remain in eighth position.
