In the extra seconds of extra time, Inter attacked the final wave. Federico Dimarco crosses the ball poorly from the left, but defender Alex Sandro awkwardly supports his chest in the Juventus penalty area . Matteo Darmian rushed into the ball, bringing it to the right position for Alexis Sanchez to shoot from close range to knock Mattia Perin down. Two players who are considered "out of line" of Man Utd made a great contribution to helping Inter score the decisive goal.

Sanchez was only a substitute in this match, and came on in the 75th minute. At that time, coach Simone Inzaghi told him: "Let's make a difference for the game". "If I had let me in earlier, I could have made a difference," said Sanchez.

Inter is played at home, so they overwhelm the opponent with a ball retention rate of 64% of the time. They have almost three times as many shots, and nearly four times as many corners as Juventus. But, the away team suddenly opened the scoring in the 25th minute. Rabiot crossed the ball to hit the Inter player's foot to change direction. Weston McKennie took the opportunity to head near the wall when no one was watching, knocking out Samir Handanovic.

The home side equalized the score after only 10 minutes, when striker Edin Dzeko was fouled by Mattia De Sciglio from behind in the Juventus penalty area. Striker Lautaro Martinez took a penalty kick to the right corner, distracting Perin. This match Perin started when Wojciech Szczesny received a positive result for nCoV at the last minute.

Perin played superbly in the second half with two beautiful saves against Denzel Dumfries and Martinez. In which, the situation of Dumfries' close-range shot was pushed by the 29-year-old goalkeeper with the tip of his finger. But, he failed to do anything at the decisive goal at the end of the game.

Juventus determined the penalty shootout mentality, so they wanted to bring in center-back Leonardo Bonucci in the last minutes of extra time. The Juventus substitutes shouted for their teammates to clear the ball all the way to Bonucci. But, when Juventus did not have time to do so, Inter punished Sandro's mistake.

"That's the champion, the better we play," Sanchez said after the game. "We are in great form, and will continue to win like this."

Inter are maintaining high form with a streak of eight wins in Serie A, before defeating Juventus in the Italian Super Cup. In the next match, they were a guest at Atalanta's field in Serie A on the evening of Sunday, January 16, while Juventus received Udinese at home the day before.
